2002: Played in 16 contests with five starts… tallied 52 tackles (42 solo) with a team-high-tying two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, and a team-leading 14 passes defensed… also played in one postseason contest, the NFC Wildcard Game at San Francisco 1/5, notching one tackle and one interception… finished with three tackles (two solo) and one interception returned for a touchdown at St. Louis 9/15… picked off by Rams’ QB Kurt Warner that was deflected by DE Kenny Holmes, returning it 31 yards for touchdown… tallied three tackles and an interception off Redskins’ QB Shane Matthews, which led to 19-yard game-winning field goal by K Matt Bryant against Washington 11/17… made season high 10 tackles (eight solo) with two passes defensed vs. Tennessee 12/1.

2001: Started all 13 games played, notching 63 tackles (57 solo), tying for second on team with three interceptions, one returned for touchdown, a team-high 16 passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery… racked up seven solo tackles and one pass defensed against New Orleans 9/3… finished with six tackles (five solo), three passes defensed, and two interceptions vs. Washington 10/7… returned interception off Redskins’ QB Tony Banks 34 yards for touchdown in fourth quarter… made six tackles (five solo), one pass defensed, and dropped Eagles’ QB Donovan McNabb for a 10-yard sack in fourth quarter against Philadelphia 10/22… tied season-high with seven tackles (six solo), two passes defensed, and one recovered fumble vs. Arizona 12/15… recovered fumbled snap on a Cardinals’ field goal attempt in second quarter, returning it 36 yards… tallied four tackles (two solo) and two passes defensed against Seattle 12/23 before severely spraining left ankle, forcing him to leave game early and miss next two contests before being placed on reserve/injured list 1/2.

2000: Started all 14 games played, and three postseason games at right cornerback… finished fourth on team with 77 tackles (64 solo), recorded two interceptions, led team with 17 passes defensed, and had one forced fumble… postseason numbers totaled 12 solo tackles, two interceptions, and four passes defensed… led Giants in tackles in first two games of season with eight solo tackles against Arizona 9/3 and eight tackles (seven solo) at Philadelphia 9/10… led team with nine tackles (eight solo) with one pass defensed, as well as forcing a fumble by Titans’ RB Eddie George that he recovered at Tennessee 10/1… made six tackles (five solo), one interception, and career-high six passes defensed at Atlanta 10/8… missed two games (vs. Philadelphia 10/29 and at Cleveland 11/5) with sprained sterno-clavicular joint and fractured rib suffered when he intercepted a pass by Cowboys’ QB Troy Aikman on first play of game vs. Dallas 10/15… made great dramatic play in regular season finale against Jacksonville 12/23, grabbing an onside kick and returning it 38 yards for a touchdown, the third-shortest kickoff return for a touchdown in NFL history… also made four tackles (one solo) and another onside kick recovery against Jaguars… racked up four solo tackles and one interception in NFC Divisional Playoff Game against Philadelphia 1/7, making one of most memorable plays in Giants’ history when he dove for a pass by QB Donovan McNabb to WR Torrance Small in second quarter, unable to catch it, he tipped it in the air, jumped off the ground, and caught the ball, racing it 32 yards for a touchdown… collected two solo tackles, one interception, and three passes defensed in NFC Championship Game vs. Minnesota 1/14… made six solo tackles in Super Bowl XXXV vs. Baltimore 1/28.

1999: Started all 10 games he saw action in at right cornerback after missing entire 1998 season… finished with 45 tackles (37 solo), one interception, and four passes defensed… missed all of training camp and first two games of season (at Tampa Bay 9/12 and vs. Washington 9/19) after pulling hamstring during offseason workouts… made five tackles (four solo) at New England 9/26 in first football action since 1998 preseason injury… missed final four games of season (at Buffalo 12/12, at St. Louis 12/19, vs. Minnesota 12/26, and at Dallas 1/2) after suffering fractured left fibula against New York Jets 12/15.

1998: Missed entire season after being placed on reserve/injured list 8/24 after suffering torn ACL and MCL in right knee while returning opening kickoff in preseason game against New York Jets 8/20.

1997: Started all 16 games of regular season, plus one postseason contest, at right cornerback… earned all-pro honors from College & Pro Football Weeekly, second-team all-NFL honors by Football Digest, and all-Madden team honors… set single-season personal best with six interceptions, most by a Giant since 1990… finished third on team with 86 total tackles (75 solo), six interceptions, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery, and 20 passes defensed… racked up 10 solo tackles, one interception, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery vs. Arizona 11/16, earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors… had first two-interception game, returning one 35 yards for a touchdown against Washington 12/23, earning second NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors of season… named NFC Defensive Player of the Month in December for play at Philadelphia 12/7 (holding Eagles’ WR Irving Fryar to two catches), vs. Washington (shutting out Redskins’ WR Michael Westbrook and returning interception 35 yards for score), and at Dallas 12/21 (shut out Cowboys’ WR Michael Irvin)… picked off pass by Vikings’ QB Randall Cunningham, returning it 36 yards to set up Giants’ field goal in NFC Wildcard Game vs. Minnesota 12/27.

1996: Played in 16 games, starting 15… led team with five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 12 passes defensed… third on team with 97 tackles (83 solo), three sacks, and tied for third on team with nine special teams tackles… made first career start vs. Buffalo 9/1, dropping Bills’ QB Jim Kelly for a 15-yard sack, forcing a fumble on Buffalo’s second offensive series on third down… made first career interception off Redskins’ QB Gus Frerotte against Washington 9/15… led team with nine tackles (seven solo) at New York Jets 9/22… racked up six tackles and sacked Vikings’ QB Warren Moon twice vs. Minnesota 9/29… collected 11 tackles (eight solo) against Philadelphia 10/13… led secondary with eight tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble vs. Dallas 11/24… intercepted fifth pass of season, scoring first career touchdown, returning a pass by Patriots’ QB Drew Bledsoe 23 yards against New England 12/21, leading Giants with nine tackles (eight solo). 

1995: Saw action in 14 games… finished with six tackles (four solo) on defense and tied for fourth on team with eight special teams tackles… recorded first two defensive tackles of career vs. Oakland 11/12, lining up as past of nickel defense.

1994: Played in eight games, finishing with one special teams tackle at Cleveland 12/4.

College Highlights

Played both safety and cornerback during two-year career at USC… totaled 136 tackles (108 solo) with 10 interceptions and 23 passes defensed while returning 31 punts for 7.3-yard average and a long of 20 in Trojan career… made seven interceptions as senior, earning all-America and all-PAC 10 honors by The Poor Man’s Guide… transferred to USC after record-setting career as receiver and tailback at Shasta Community College (Redding, Ca.)… finished JUCO career with 114  receptions for 2,053 yards and 31 touchdowns, 55 rushes for 315 yards and two touchdowns, and 90 punt/kickoff returns for a 21.6-yard average and two touchdowns… averaged 12.0 points for school’s basketball team in 1991, also setting school-record with 48’1” triple jump… communications major.

Born Jason Heath Sehorn in Sacramento, Ca… only played football as senior at Mount Shasta (Ca.) High, earning league MVP honors… standout performer on basketball and track teams… despite not playing high school or Little League baseball, spent two seasons in Chicago Cubs minor league system… is a product of a single-parent upbringing and credits his mother for all his successes… brought Atlanta RB Warrick Dunn’s “Homes for the Holidays” program to Newark, NJ by helping several single mothers become homeowners… Sehorn’s Corner also hosts “Turkey Trot,” a program in which the foundation purchases Thanksgiving meals for single-parent families in Elizabeth, NJ… hosted a Mother’s Day luncheon in Newark for single-parent mothers… married to actress Angie Harmon… couple is expecting first child in October.
