Chris Scott was a heralded recruit out of Lovejoy High School in his hometown of Riverdale, Georgia. A two-time All-State player, Scott was recognized as one of the best recruits in the country, being a Parade All-American, a player in the prestigious U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and named to the Super Southern 100 team. Upon graduation, Scott accepted a scholarship to play ball at the University of Tennessee. After redshirting the 2005 season, Scott appeared in 7 games his first season. In 2007, Scott earned the starting position at right guard. However, it was his versatility that proved key, as he was asked to play all five positions on the offensive line in a year where Tennessee set a NCAA record for fewest sacks. He started the final 39 games of his career, including every game at the pivotal left tackle position his senior season. Scott was selected with the 151st overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He underwent surgery prior to his rookie campaign and is currently on the physically unable to perform list, but is expected to make a full recovery and contribute to the Steelers 2010-2011 offense. |
