Mike Keith

Mike Keith

Mike Keith is in his 13th season as “The Voice of the Tennessee Titans”.

Keith began his broadcasting career in late 1984, calling games and hosting a talk show on Franklin, TN’s cable-access television station, WAGG-TV. In 1986, he enrolled at the University of Tennessee, where he immediately became part of the student radio station, WUTK. Keith parlayed that experience into posts with the Vol Radio Network, WIVK Radio and WBIR-TV. Known for his work ethic and preparation, Keith saw his career explode over the next decade.

Then, the call came from Nashville to join the Mid-south’s new NFL team. Even though Keith was firmly entrenched in Knoxville and loved his job, he jumped at the new challenge to be “The Voice of the Titans”.

It did not take long before Keith was recognized as one of the NFL’s most exciting announcers. Actually, it happened by the end of his first season. In January of 2000, Keith called one of the greatest plays in NFL history, “The Music City Miracle”, a last-second touchdown that gave the Titans an improbable playoff win over Buffalo. In 2010, Sports Illustrated named Keith’s description of the historic play as the 28th best radio call in American sports history.

Since that time, Keith has called many other great Titans moments, with his signature calls of “Touchdown Titans!” and “Sacked!” having become favorites of Titans fans everywhere.

In addition to his play-by-play duties, Keith hosts Jeff Fisher’s weekly radio show on Titans Radio, serves as host and executive producer of the Titans All Access television show, emcees all official Titans events, handles all logistics each spring for the annual Titans Caravan and works closely with the 60+ Titans Radio stations throughout the region.

Keith also travels extensively, speaking to countless school, civic and professional groups. In 2010, Keith made well over 100 appearances on behalf of the Titans.

Keith has been named as Tennessee Sportscaster of the Year nine times since 2000, has won over 20 Associated Press state awards and has captured two national honors, including the industry’s most prestigious award: the Edward R. Murrow Award for nationwide excellence in sports reporting. Keith is a member of the Battle Ground Academy Hall of Fame and the University of Tennessee Baseball Hall of Fame.

Keith now lives back in his hometown of Franklin with his wife, Michelle, and their two children, Abby (16) and Matthew (12).
