Jay BarkerJay Barker knows the importance of leadership and teamwork. Jay is the last Alabama quarterback to lead the Alabama Crimson Tide to a National Championship and an undefeated season (1992). Jay was not only a winner on the field, but he is a College legend when it comes to his integrity and leadership off the field. During Jay’s career at Alabama he became the FCA chapter’s shining leader and example during the years of 1990-95. Jay was a role model who captured the campus and the State of Alabama with his stand against alcohol and drugs and stand for abstinence. As a starting quarterback, he compiled a record of 35-2-1, won All-American honors and the Johnny Unitas Award as the nation's most outstanding quarterback his senior year. FCA Advisor Wayne Atcheson wrote a book on Jay's life entitled In Due Time which was published by The Birmingham News with 62,000 copies in print. A strong leader, Jay led FCA teammates in a prayer session before each game in the shower room that has carried over since his departure in 1994. Stan WhiteStan White is a graduate of W.A. Berry High School which is now Hoover High School in Hoover, AL. He went on to play quarterback at Auburn University where he started every game from his freshman year until his senior year, a total of 45 straight games. During that span he set numerous school records that still stand today. Stan also earned Most Valuable Player honors for several of his performances as well. He was named permanent team captain on Auburn’s undefeated 1993 team that went 11-0 and was also named to Auburn’s Team of the Decade for the 1990’s. After playing for the New York Giants from 1994-1997 Stan returned home to Birmingham in 1998 and now owns a State Farm Insurance and Financial Services Agency in Birmingham. |
